Learning Highlights

When I think about me as a learner and try to recall specific examples, my mind travels back to high school. The school I went to is a counrty school, ran by politics and not exactly know as a good school. I think back to my math classes and a couple specific teachers. I had a teacher who didn't want to teach for geometry, I learned absolutely nothing! I love math yet I hated geometry. The net school year I had a teacher who I feel is the best teacher I have ever had. I give him credit for all of the things I know about math and sciences, for my math scores ont he ACT for my skills in learning. In my Algebra II class he taught me algebra, geometry, chemistry and then the next year he taught me calculus and physics. I must also add that he was not my teacher for most of these classes but took the time to teach our class because he knew we needed the information for college. He is a very intelligent person, he scored perfect on the ACT and almost perfect on the SAT's, yet he could get down to our level and teach it in a way we all would understand. He definitely changed my life as a learner. He made me understand how important it is to learn and find all the information you can in as many different areas as you can. We need to be well rounded and not matter how smart or educated you get you need to be able to communicate your ideas effectively. It is know good to know everything if you cannot dicuss is and extend on your learning. You might know everything today but if you don't keep learning, within a year you will know nothing. Rikki :-)
